To spread the community spirit, 20 taxis featuring the iconic Beetle model car on their roofs, gathered for the kick-off ceremony at Ocean Terminal today. Volkswagen Hong Kong has pledged to donate HKD$1,000 for every taxi supporting this charity drive, and will contribute to the Po Leung Kuk. Until now, 60 taxis had already joined the first phase of the campaign.

“With its 131-year history, the Po Leung Kuk is one of Hong Kong’s longest established and best known charitable organisations,” said Mr. Samson Leung, PR Manager of Volkswagen Hong Kong. “We are delighted to be assisting this charity drive, which will in turn aid the Po Leung Kuk to provide quality and professional social services for the needy.”

The donation from Volkswagen will help the Po Leung Kuk with its wide ranging services, including integrated families services, child care, youth and elderly services etc.

“As a responsible corporate citizen, we fully support the “Volkswagen Charity Drive”. And the donation to Po Leung Kuk is one of our ways to demonstrate Volkswagen’s commitment to the society.” said Mr. Leung. “And we are very pleased to be able to spread the community spirit in Hong Kong.”
