Ferdinand Porsche was commissioned to design a Volkswagen.

1935
VW 3, a prototype was developed.

 
1937
The "Gesellschaft zur Vorbereitung des Deutshen Volkswagens mbH" (Company for the Preparation of the German Volkswagen Ltd.) was established in Berlin.

1938
Ferdinand Porsche developed "KdF-Wagen". Construction of the Volkswagen plant near Fallersleben began.

1945
The Type 1 resumed to the production line after the WW II.

1950
Series production of the first Transporter began in Wolfsburg.

1955
Celebration of the 1,000,000th Beetle at the Wolfsburg factory.
